The new terminal of Olbia Airport was inaugurated on June 6, 2004. The extension and renovation of the old spaces, designed by architect Willem Brower and the Geogramma technical office, began in 2000. The terminal has been expanded to 42,000 square meters, three times the area of the old structure. It is equipped with 40 check-in desks, 15 exits, 5 fingers, a large shopping center of 2,200 square meters with stores and services and has been designed to accommodate 4,500,000 passengers per year. The architecture is elegant and modern, a particular attention has been paid to the study of the most harmonious integration between the structure and the Sardinian landscape in order to enhance the peculiarities of the territory and to offer the opportunity to passengers and visitors to spend the wait in the best way and with maximum comfort.
