Information for passengers arriving in Sardinia: urgent measures to combat and prevent COVID-19

From Monday March 8th, according to the Legislation of the President of Sardinia Region n. 5 of March 5th 2021, all passengers arriving in Sardinia by airline or shipping lines are required to register before boarding using:
- a special online form Sardegna Sicura
or
- "Sardegna Sicura" App available for iOS and Android systems
and show a copy of the registration receipt with the boarding pass and a valid identity document.

Within the registration may also be included that of dependent minors travelling with the declarant.

According to Order n. 9 of March 17th 2021, entry into Sardinia to go to dwellings other than the main one (so-called second homes) is allowed only in the presence of proven business needs or situations of necessity and/or immediacy documented or for health reasons and, anyway, according to the provisions of the Regional Order n. 5/2021.

Through the platform above mentioned, arriving passengers can give evidence of vaccination (vaccination means the inoculation of both doses) and/or undergo molecular diagnostic examination of the rhino-pharyngeal swab for covid-19 and/or subjected to the examination of the antigenic swab, with negative results performed no later than 48 hours from the departure time.

Passengers who have not been vaccinated or who have not undergone a swab before arrival in Sardinia, must alternatively:
a) reach the dedicated areas in ports and airports, in order to undergo the rapid antigenic swab.
In the event of a negative antigenic swab, the passenger can go home, with the recommendation to keep personal protective equipment, avoid contact with third parties and undergo a new antigenic swab by a trusted health care professional on the fifth day after the first swab. In case of a positive outcome, the passenger must follow the procedures provided for by current legislation for positive Covid-19 cases;
b) go, within 48 hours of entering the region, to an accredited authorized facility (public or private) and undergo the molecular swab, at their own expense, with the onus on the facility to notify the competent local health authority;
c) obligatorily place themselves in fiduciary isolation, from entering Sardinia for the following ten days, at their home, with the obligation to inform their doctor, pediatrician or, for non-residents, the local health Authority through the toll-free number.
